Statement of Faith

1. We believe in the one Almighty, unchangeable and infallible Holy God, creator of heaven and earth, who has revealed himself as forever existing in three eternal and co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:1-5; Genesis 1:1; 1 Peter 1:2).  He is truth and love, holy and wise, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, the only blessed sovereign King of Kings and Lord of Lords, worthy of honor and might forever (1 Timothy 6:15-16), and the unchanging source and author of all goodness and perfect gifts (James 1:17).

2. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. We recognize no other revelation in writings or in life other than the Old and New Testaments and Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 3:16, Luke 2:30-32).

3. We believe in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:20-23), true God and true Man (John 1:1, 14; 17:3), the only Mediator between God and people and sole Savior of sinners (1 Tim. 1:15, 2:5-6) who obtained eternal redemption for all those that believe by his own blood shed on the cross (Hebrews 9:11-12, 14) and is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

4. We believe that God the Holy Spirit is a personal being who convicts the world of sin, regenerates, indwells, comforts, empowers, guides, and bestows spiritual gifts on believers and that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ during this age (Romans 8:9-17).  We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

5. We believe that man was created from dust by a direct act of God and in his image (Genesis 1:26).  We believe that our human ancestors Adam and Eve disobeyed God and led to a severance of the loving relationship extant between God and them. We believe that because of Adam and Eve’s fall, all human beings are born with a sinful nature.  Sin incurred physical death and also brings spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12) and all human beings are in need of a Savior (Romans 3:10-23).

6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless and perfect life on earth (Hebrews 4:14-16; 5:7-10), died for our sins according to the Scriptures (Isaiah 53:2-12; Mark 15:37-39), was buried, and bodily rose from the dead as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice (I Corinthians 15:1-4).  We believe that all who by faith receive Him as their Savior are justified on the basis of His blood shed on the cross at Calvary. (Romans 5:8-9; 10:9-10)

7. We believe in the “blessed assurance” of the risen Lord Jesus Christ’s invisible companionship with all that believe in him and are committed to doing his bidding (Matthew 28:18-20, John 15:1-5); we also believe in “that blessed hope,” the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost (I Corinthians 15:51, 52; Revelation 20:11-15).

9. We believe that the Church, composed of all those who truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, has its foundation as Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:10-11), and is the Body and Bride of Christ. We believe that Christ is the Head of the Body, which is the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23); that all believers are baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and thus having become members of one another, we are responsible to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:3).

10. We believe that the Church as the united Body of Christ is appointed and authorized by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to active and fruitful participation in making disciples in all Nations (Acts 1:8); we believe and recognize that by God’s own initiative, members of the church are in a reconciled relationship with God and have received the privilege of being God’s co-workers by God’s grace (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

11. We believe in passion and commitment to work and creating jobs and good working environments, not as a means of salvation but as a measure of our appreciation of God who made us in His image and endowed us with creativity and ingenuity (Psalm 139:13-17; Genesis 2:15, Ephesians 2:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12; Exodus 35:30-35; Colossians 3:23-24),  placing us on a planet conducive for satisfactory living (Acts 17:24-28). We believe that using our gifts and skills to create wealth to share and to serve in a world with numerous needs is a form of acceptable worship (Ephesians 2:10), driven by awareness that we are in the company of the Lord Christ who came to serve and not to be served (Luke 22:26-27; Philippians 2:1-11) and through whom we become God’s servants and agents of supply for the needs of his people (Philippians 4:19).

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. - 1 Peter 1:3
